LaLaGirl – Twinfinite Chaos! Parenting Multiples and Dealing with Autism

This weather kind of sucks. I mean, not that it’s unexpected. We had SNOW on September 21st, and my kids were outside freezing half to death in coats on the 4th of July, and we had blizzards way up through May. Colorado’s reputation for having wonky, unpredictable weather remains true to itself always. But still…I had plans! The kids have been out of school for a week and a half, and we’ve had a HANDFUL of sunny days. Today, it’s cold, rainy, and totally blah. I wanted to go to the zoo! The hell?

Fally? Fall-ey? Okay, it’s a made-up word. But, yeah! I’m feelin’ it! After our record-breaking heat wave, we’ve got the most amazing forecast coming up for the weekend. On Friday, we’re supposed to see a high of 68. That’s thirty degrees cooler than it’s been lately! Ahhh! And, I even heard mention of SNOW in the high country? Crazy!

Besides the cooler weather (even if it’s just going to be cooler for a minute) the kids start back to school on Tuesday. Ahhh! I’m all for year-round school, but I think it’s pointless to start school, go for three wees, and then track off for three weeks. We were just getting used to arising at o’dark-thirty, and now we’re back to being slackers who sleep until 8:30 every day. It’s going to be a rough transition, again.

And then! Another week, and Miss Kayley goes back to school, too! Watch out, underclassmen. Kayley’s now an 8th grader. (What the HELL, man? I was just remembering when she broke her ankle the week before school started, thinking that happened last year. It was TWO years ago! She’s going into her last year of middle school!)

Now, if I could only get some decent apples at the grocery store, I’d be a happy chick. Isn’t it supposed to be apple season? Too early still?
