I just wrote out a thank you card with a Starbucks card enclosed for our neighbors who came over here on the spur of the moment when Pablo had to go to the hospital in the ambulance a couple of weeks ago. I wanted them to get it before the kids drew on it with crayons, so I had Kayley run it over to them while I watched her out the window. I saw the wife use her finger to open up the envelope and wondered, did she just touch my spit? Did the envelope have a chance to dry? I’ll bet it didn’t! I’ll bet my gesture of thanks was just voided by the fact that she’s got my DNA on her hands now! D’oh!

My big boy and girl are so shaggy! Pablo actually looks like all those teenage boys you see nowadays with their long, goofy looking hair. It’s going to be pretty funny in ten years or so for all those mopheads to look back at their high school pictures! Lord knows I laugh at myself and the hair I had as a teenager. But hey! EVERY girl had long hair in a spiral perm, with giant, teased bangs ala Whitney Houston in her “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” video.
What was I talking about?
Oh yeah! Haircuts. The kids are starting school in a week and a half, and I can’t have them starting their first day of preschool in darling little uniforms with their hair looking like it is!! Pablo’s curls are so pretty, but his hair stopped looking cute about a month ago. It’s seriously starting to resemble MY MOM’S hair. That whole short, curly, 68-year-old woman hairdo, y’know what I mean? We just can’t have that. And Mallory wanted to grow her bangs out, but I’m intervening. There’s nothing cuter than a little girl with bangs, and I can still make the rules for a couple more years!
Tune in later for cute “after” pictures!
