I get so completely giddy whenever I see throwback packaging at the store, and I ALWAYS buy whatever it is. My favorite so far has been the Cap’n Crunch cereal – I LOVE seeing it on my breakfast table every morning, looking just as it did in the 70s when I was a kid. So when I saw these Doritos at the store today, I snatched them right up. My parents ran a motel when I was growing up, and we had a vending area in the front office. I can see that rack of chips in my mind’s eye just like it was yesterday! And the Doritos looked JUST LIKE THIS. (Once I got them home, I realized you couldn’t actually see the chips through the bag – it’s just a photo. Boooo.)
I guess it’s just proof of my happy, idyllic childhood – seeing ANYTHING from the 70s and 80s tickles me to death. Smurf figurines, Holly Hobbie bedspreads, Sean Cassidy posters – I’ll take all of it.
I saw the Cheetos bag in the store yesterday and loved it!
