Oooh, I got a new gadget! Awww, but it sucks. Hi. I know I haven’t posted in a minute. But I had to pop in real quick to let you know that we had an AMAZING housewarming/birthday party this past weekend, and in preparation for this soirée, I bought the Shark Steam Mop.

I used it in my kitchen before the party, and within the first ten minutes, I burned a perfect mophead shaped spot into my floor. Whoops! Then I used it after the party, when I had acres and acres of sticky tile floor to clean up. I must say, I’m not impressed with this thing. Even after switching to distilled water and using a fresh microfiber cover each time, it just does not work that well. It took me easily twice as long as it normally takes me to mop, because I had to go over each section two or three or four more times, because it still felt sticky under my flip flops, or it still looked dirty to me. I hate mopping as it is – I ESPECIALLY hate it when I have to do it for a half hour straight!

Also? I miss the shininess of a freshly mopped floor using poisonous glossy cleaners. So sue me. My floors seem clean, but look dull as hell.

I think I’m going to take this thing back to Bed, Bath & Beyond. You can do that, right? I mean, you can just take it back and tell them it’s duddy and that it doesn’t clean for shit, and they’ll give you your money back, won’t they? I guess I’ll find out soon enough!
