Mile High Mamas – Moms Night Out!
I know I’m a few days late in posting this. The BIG OLD BLIZZARD threw me off a little bit. And what did I tell you? Allll that snow we had melted in a day. I was in the backyard yesterday, and there wasn’t a speck of snow anywhere to be seen. I walked all around the yard, checking out everything that’s ready to bud out or bloom or emerge from the ground. Ah, springtime! Oh, but wait. It’s snowing like hell again today. D’oh!
ANYWAY. Last Wednesday, I went to a Mile High Mamas event at The D-Note off of Olde Wadsworth in Arvada. Quite a trek for me, since I’ve moved to the other side of town, but totally worth it. Lots of the great local bloggers I met last fall were there, and I met lots more for the first time. Those in attendance included:
- Amber from Crazy Bloggin Canuck
- Lori from Weebles Wobblog
- Gretchen from Lifenut
- The Delightful Nini from Delirious Zoo
- Anne-Marie from A Mama’s Rant
- Cyndi from Lil Cyndiluwho
- Olivia from Congrats from Colorado
- Denise from Eat, Play, Love
- Sarah from Imaginary Binky
- Beckie from Tech Talk for Moms
- JoAnn from The Casual Perfectionist
- Jen from Laughing at Chaos
- Mindy from Single Mom Mindy
- Holly from What Was I Saying Again?
- Jenna from Peace It Together
- Sarah from Lemony Sarah
- Lisa from Born Fit
and, naturally, ME!
I had such a good time. The D-Note is this charming old place where they have amazing pizza and live music, and I think it was a great venue for our meetup. It did kind of suck that we were seated literally right next to the band, only because we were trying to have lots of conversations, and it was LOUD. But it’s hard to complain about a night away from the kids, among such great women! Lori was telling me that she and her family live nearby, and spend many Sunday afternoons there at the D-Note, where the kids can actually run around the restaurant and get onstage to play toy instruments. Doesn’t that sound like a blast?
I wish I would have taken my camera. Twice this week, I’ve done camera-worthy things, and not taken a single picture! I suck! There are pictures on the Mile High Mamas page, if you’re interested. I’m not in any of them. Wait! Actually, I am! See what happens when you forget your camera? It’s like you were never there! I had dinner with my best friend from high school Saturday night, and forgot to take a picture of the two of us that night as well. I don’t know what my problem is!
If you’re a local mommy blogger, you should totally check out Mile High Mamas. It’s so much fun!
