Mile High Mamas – Moms Night Out!

I know I’m a few days late in posting this. The BIG OLD BLIZZARD threw me off a little bit. And what did I tell you? Allll that snow we had melted in a day. I was in the backyard yesterday, and there wasn’t a speck of snow anywhere to be seen. I walked all around the yard, checking out everything that’s ready to bud out or bloom or emerge from the ground. Ah, springtime! Oh, but wait. It’s snowing like hell again today. D’oh!

ANYWAY. Last Wednesday, I went to a Mile High Mamas event at The D-Note off of Olde Wadsworth in Arvada. Quite a trek for me, since I’ve moved to the other side of town, but totally worth it. Lots of the great local bloggers I met last fall were there, and I met lots more for the first time. Those in attendance included:

I had such a good time. The D-Note is this charming old place where they have amazing pizza and live music, and I think it was a great venue for our meetup. It did kind of suck that we were seated literally right next to the band, only because we were trying to have lots of conversations, and it was LOUD. But it’s hard to complain about a night away from the kids, among such great women! Lori was telling me that she and her family live nearby, and spend many Sunday afternoons there at the D-Note, where the kids can actually run around the restaurant and get onstage to play toy instruments. Doesn’t that sound like a blast?

I wish I would have taken my camera. Twice this week, I’ve done camera-worthy things, and not taken a single picture! I suck! There are pictures on the Mile High Mamas page, if you’re interested. I’m not in any of them. Wait! Actually, I am! See what happens when you forget your camera? It’s like you were never there! I had dinner with my best friend from high school Saturday night, and forgot to take a picture of the two of us that night as well. I don’t know what my problem is!

If you’re a local mommy blogger, you should totally check out Mile High Mamas. It’s so much fun!

Womb to Bloom

I wanted to give a shout out to the folks at Womb to Bloom, a parenting site with lots of great information for expectant moms and parents of little ones, too. The site has message boards, a provider directory, great articles, and they do a Friday feature where they highlight standout parenting blogs. I was honored to be among last week’s picks! Look what they said about me!

LalaGirl is Laura, mother of five children, four of whom are twin sets! So you can imagine she probably has a lot to say about her brood! But wait, add an autistic child to this mix and you’ve got a great mix of must-read-blog ingredients —chaos, fun, drama, emotion and lots of pure joy! Oh and did I mention she does giveaways, holds contests and writes product reviews too? The fact that her children are at so many different stages of their life, from middle school to pre-school, makes her blog a really great place to hang out at!

Isn’t that nice? It’s always good to be recognized, but even better when someone takes the time to actually SAY something about you, rather than just copy the tagline from your blog or something. Thanks for the traffic, Womb to Bloom!
