I don’t know why, but I’m finding that I really do miss our old house, A LOT. Even though I love the new house, the new neighborhood, the new school, and basically, EVERYTHING about the new house, I’m finding it hard to close the door on 5 years of good times and memories surrounding our old house. Weird, huh? This makes it easier:

Maybe I missed this, but why did you guys move? I’m so envious that you were able to sell the house! I like our house, but we’re stuck where we are for the interminable future because of the market.

Nah, not so weird. That house represented a lot that was going on in your life at that time, as well as being the home in which you got married and to which you brought your kids home. It’s perfectly understandable that it is hard to let go. That being said, you just need time to build new memories.

I totally understand. Just the thought of moving brings tears to my eyes.

We’ve been in our first house for a little over a year, and and I still miss our apartment sometimes. I think it’s just natural to miss the places where you have good memories.

No, not weird. I’ve had a hard (weird) time with leaving each house we’ve moved from.
