The House.
So, have I sort of alluded to the fact that we’re buying a new house and moving? No? Yes? I’m not even sure. I feel so conspicuous here, I sometimes completely forget to mention important things until after they happen. Well, it hasn’t happened yet, but it’s going to happen soon! Paul and I have found a great house, very near the kids’ schools, and we’re closing on it in less than 2 weeks. I’m trying frantically to pack up the house (while recovering from gall bladder surgery!) so we can move between Christmas and New Years. Eeek!
The house is beautiful. It’s much smaller than the house we’re in now – sort of. The square footage isn’t much less, but it’s laid out differently. We won’t have a 3rd floor finished attic to play in. But we will have a badass finished walk-out BASEMENT, complete with a wet bar, theater room, and bathroom complete with its own shower and URINAL. (It’s a total guy zonel.) The kids’ rooms are a lot smaller, but they will have a Jack & Jill bathroom to share. Kayley won’t have a walk-in closet, but she’ll have her own bathroom. We won’t have a creek behind us, but we will have a park to play in, with the entrance just one house away.
Honestly, it’s the intervention we need to scale down and get rid of a lot of shit! I’m really excited. (Mostly for it all to be over with!) Wish us lots of luck. And if you’re local? Feel free to come on over on moving day! I’m not supposed to lift anything over 20 pounds for three whole weeks, y’know.

CONGRATULATIONS! Enjoy your new digs and good luck!

I wish I was there to help you!!
A urinal?!? Do realize how many guys would salivate over that? (Actually, if it would reduce the pee periphery around the toilet, I would too…)
Good luck with the move!

CONGRATULATIONS! I’m really excited for you guys, and I LOVE the new house! You know you’ll have to get those rings that they put in the public urinals. I don’t know what they are called, or where you buy them, but Michael and his friend came out of a bar bathroom one night talking about the ring. I had NO IDEA those things even existed until then.

That’s such awesome news. Wow, moving between holidays, you are a brave one!
LMAO about the urinal, my boys would totally love that!
Take it easy during your recovery time (or as easy you can while packing and celebrating anyhow) you don’t want to tear those internal stitch thingies they put in there.
Oh great. I bet am guessing you have a beautiful new house. I hope my husband and I can find and buy a house next year.
