Pablo the…waiter?
I love this picture. I loved watching this in person even more, though. The kids were out playing in the backyard, drinking in the gorgeous fall weather. I’m encouraging them to get out there as much as possible, because during the spring and fall in Colorado, it’s not unusual for it to be 80 one day and snow the next. Right now, it’s gorgeous, so we’re taking advantage. I’d just called everyone in for dinner, but I couldn’t get Pablo to come in – he was having so much fun outside! I kept seeing him run back and forth from the playground to the little picnic table, and finally figured out what was going on. He had taken a bunch of Barbies and lined them all up for dinner, and was feeding them individual plates of cake, aka sand and purple flowers.
I mentioned the other day on my review blog that kids with autism like Pablo don’t fall into gender stereotypes. This is another great example of that. He loves playing with Barbies! As someone pointed out to me, maybe he’ll grow up to be a waiter. Ha!

aw that is so cool!
That is adorable!!
Demetrius will play with Maya’s Barbies too….if she’s not around. If so, she’ll want him to get his super heroes to play with her Barbies and that is not allowed. His super heroes are off limits. So Maya has learned to keep him away from her Barbies, she goes for the Super Heroes….you’d think they’d want to hook up though, don’t-cha? I mean, tough guys, honorable, completely buffed up….chicks that are built..well, like Barbies?
GI Joes are allowed to play with the Barbies for some reason.
I hear they like guys in uniform
