I’m hungry.
And thirsty. And I forgot to take my medicine when I got up, and now I’m going to have to wait until later. Why? Because I’m heading over for an ultrasound around noon-time. (Again: NOT having another kid. Don’t worry!) I think it’s just MEAN to schedule an appointment for 12:15 and tell you that you can’t have anything to eat or drink for six hours beforehand! I think I’m going to get my gallbladder out within the next month or two, and today’s ultrasound should let me know how quickly I need to get it done. So, yeah – one health issue addressed. Go, me!
Also, I’m on a new medication for my chronic headaches. It’s actually a mild antidepressant, but is often prescribed for chronic pain, migraines, and that sort of thing. I started taking it the other day and it SEEMS like it’s helping, although it’s hard to tell yet. I’m a little concerned that one of the side effects listed is EXTREME WEIGHT GAIN. Extreme? How extreme is extreme? Is it the “Since my head isn’t pounding anymore, I’m suddenly hungry for pizza!” weight gain, or the “All I consume is water and fruit, and I’m still packin’ it on!” weight gain? I haven’t found much about it online – usually you can find forum posts where people are discussing that sort of thing, but I haven’t seen much beyond, “This medicine has changed my life for the better!” And THAT’S always nice to read.
I had a nice weekend, by the way. The twin club sale was Friday/Saturday, so I was busy with that. Sunday, we went to a big dinner at my parents’ house with Paul’s parents. My mom and sister made a bunch of fried chicken, mashed potatoes & gravy, corn on the cob, fresh green beans, and blueberry muffins. Perfect meal to eat the night before you have to fast all day, right?
Well, I’m off. The little girls and I are going to head out to do our grocery shopping nice and early. Have a super Monday.

I’m proud of you for getting all this checked into.
Patrick takes several different medications for his head pain that list “weight gain” as a side effect, and um…he’s gained about 65 pounds in the last 2 years. Now, part of that is definitely that he isn’t exercising AT ALL. He has had to become extremely sedentary. But yeah…a lot of weight, and it sucks. Which also made it SUPER fun when his mom was calling him out for being “so big” now. Gee thanks Mom!
Anyway…I hope it works for you, and you don’t notice any side effects!

I hope this is all going to be fine. It’s so hard waiting for test results. It’s so scary to face risks of weight gain that leave the medication, not you, in control…
Well, you’re an awfully cute mom. You can probably stand to gain several pounds and still have nothing to frett about (so at least time to find a new med if necessary???)
My thoughts are with you.

I asked you somewhere else if you were getting headaches and I see now that you are dealing with chronic headaches. PITA!!
I hope you get that – and the gallbladder – resolved very soon. (((HUGS)))
