Can a person OD on coffee?

I’m so crazy ridiculous OMFG tired. I know it’s because we’ve been partying like rock stars, going to Kayley’s best friend’s birthday party, then the Poison concert, then staying up late to finish household shit we didn’t finish because we were partying like rock stars. We’re getting up at the o’dark thirty every day to get the kids to school, and it’s like we’re THE WALKING DEAD. Not just me, but my honeybun Paul too. Yet we still can’t seem to get it through our heads that WE NEED TO GO TO BED EARLIER.

How do people do this? How do you have kids in school, get up ridiculously early, and still get shit DONE around your house? How? We aren’t home from school until after 4, and then it’s that whirlwind of dinner and homework and bathtime and yeah, I’d like to have A MINUTE to hang out with my man, and I’d like to be able to sit down and do something online before it’s time to fall into bed, but seriously, I can’t seem to get to that place where it’s all in balance and I’m not endangering other folks on the road because I’m about to fall asleep at the wheel.

I keep telling myself we’ll fall into a routine soon. Well, it’s SEPTEMBER, y’all! The kids have been back in school for weeks, and we’re still going to bed after midnight. Gluttons for punishment, I guess.

I’m outtie. I’m going to turn this off and get alllll kinds of stuff done around here (no! Really!) and see if I can’t carve out a bit of time somewhere to get a few more things accomplished so I can go to bed early without guilt. If you see me online again today, smack me.

I’ll smack you, but it will only be because you asked me to. Otherwise, I just miss you.

That could be the lack of message boards I understand, too.

I Laura! I found you through entrecard. I feel like you do. I want to know how to get it all done; work, kids, housework, homework, computer time, husband time, me time, the works. I think my housework suffers the most and I am okay with that.

I’m in the same boat as you but the problem is I don’t have kids in school, my kidlets are still home with me. I feel like I haven’t taken a breath since last week. Us hard working mama’s deserve a day off from life.

I don’t have kids, so I can’t even imagine how you feel. I personally don’t get enough sleep because there is just not enough hours in the day to get everything I need/want to get done.

So jealous that you went to the Poison concert. Love them!

Well, you are providing me with some inspiration to get off of the computer and get some things done. But it is difficult because I work from home and blog and well I have to literally peel my fingers off of my keyboard on a daily basis!

How do you do it all? I think we just learn to drop our standards. Our kids aren’t school-age yet, but they’re in daycare and I work full-time. We don’t sleep a lot, but have decided that a certain level of mess is okay, meals must be healthy but not elaborate, and sometimes, you just can’t do it all. The hubby and I also try to give each other at least 3 hours of free time a month. i just spent mine yesterday, catching up with college friends!
