Yesterday, I said goodbye to my dear friend Christy. She and her family are off to start a whole new chapter in their lives, way over in Indiana. I’ve written about Christy here many times, but I outlined her awesomeness most succinctly in this post last summer. She’s been such an amazing support to me over the past two years, and it’s breaking my heart a little, knowing that she won’t be 4 minutes away anymore. At the same time, I’m excited for them! Life is going to be great.
It really hit me yesterday that they’re LEEEAVING when I went over to say goodbye, and saw this message on her driveway, written in chalk by her next door neighbor and good friend Erin. I can’t imagine how hard it is for her to say goodbye to Christy, after moving into their homes together, being pregnant together, and raising boys just days apart in age, who are the best of friends.
Wahhh! I cried all the way home. Change can be so hard!

She's happily married, loves living in Colorado, and writes almost daily about married life, raising multiples, and parenting a child with autism. In addition to playing Barbies and pretending to eat plastic food all day, Laura spends most of her time folding clean laundry, obsessing about the amount of sugar her kids eat, and vacuuming up Polly Pocket accessories. She's obsessed with Yo Gabba Gabba, red wine, and Family Guy. Questions? Just ask. Care to Subscribe by Email?

I so know where you are coming from. My best friend in the whole wide world has lived several states away since we graduated high school.

I miss them terribly. Last night was so hard, playing outside when we usually play with them, knowing that it will never be the same.

Aww Hon. I hate the “move-aways.” I rememer the afterschool specials addressing how to handle them for kids, but they neglected to make on how we can deal with it as grown-ups.
Hang in there.

Sigh! It is very very hard. But, I get to see my new house tomorrow and maybe things will be good! Fingers crossed for new beginnings! I love you girlie!
