New Coffee Maker!
So, my coffee maker took a shit the other day. Gosh, I hate that expression – it’s so crude! So unnecessarily vulgar! But so appropriate in this case!
I had a bitty little 4-cup coffee maker (which is really, like, a travel size mug of coffee + a little extra – I don’t know where they get this whole “4-cup” measurement from!) and it worked perfectly splendid for two whole years, since I’m the only one in this house who drinks coffee.
Unfortunately, I went to make coffee one day last weekend and when I started the brew, I heard liquidy “tssss! tssss!” burning sounds and noticed the water was just oddly dripping out the coffee maker all over the burner, coming out everywhere except the little drip hole. The hell? I thought maybe there was too much water in it, but nope. And then I promptly forgot about this and my mother-in-law went to make a pot of coffee and got water all over my counter. Whoops.
This was just the push I needed to UPGRADE to a normal sized coffee maker. I didn’t realize how tiny, cute, and toy-like my old one was until I put this one in its place. Now, when people are over, we can all drink coffee at the same time! We are movin’ on UP, people!

I’m not a coffee drinker – and I don’t know if you are teasing or not – but I imagine 4 cups refers to four measured cups – as in 2 cups = 1 pint — rather than 4 pretty ‘cups’ that are bigger than a soup bowl!! What we consider a ’serving’ now-a-days is ridiculous!!
