Memory Lane, revisited.

You know – as I sit here at my computer, in my big beautiful house, in my pajamas, next to my wonderful husband, keeping an ear open for the sound of a sleeping child waking up, it’s hard to believe that there was ever a time when we weren’t Paul and Laura, Happily Married Couple and Parents of Many Children. It’s hard to wrap my head around the fact that I used to be married to someone else and that I went through several years of turmoil and despair before ending up where I am now. And it’s really weird for me to realize that I have lots of people I know who didn’t know me before I was Mrs. Paul.

A week or two ago, I was on someone’s blog and they linked to an old page on The Wayback Machine, which prompted me to look up a few of my own old blog entries, which haven’t been online here in a number of years. It was fun – and weird – and sad, seeing the handful of blog entries that seem to have been randomly archived. And it made me want to investigate further, and take a look back at who I was then. I found a couple of backup folders on my hard drive, and It’s been eye opening. I’ve been going through a couple of years’ worth of blog entries – some sad, some scary, some downright cringe-worthy, a lot of them touching and funny, and I’m going to post them here soon. Hopefully in a day or two. Sooooo…make sure and tune in for that train wreck!

You know…. I read you all those years ago,and I had NO idea you had marriage problems! In fact, I thought you always sounded like you and Troy had a very good life. Either you hid most of it, or I was a dope and didn’t catch on, because I can remember being very shocked when you split!

it’s so odd how much we’ve all changed. even just the handful of people i’ve kept up – we’re all so different now. but, at least i think the majority of us would agree we’re in better places and all that heartache and crap was worth the end result.

I found a couple pages of my long-lost Baby Blog that was lost in a server change using that Wayback Machine!

It’s definatly interesting to look back at old blog posts and maybe even old websites from years ago. I know I used to have one on Geocities a long, LONG time ago and it is just the funniest thing now! :)
