13 Things We’re Doing Today!
- PILES of laundry. I’ve been putting it off.
- Watching Sesame Street. Yay for new episodes!
- Possibly going somewhere fun, like the pool or the zoo. I haven’t decided if this is a possibility yet.
- Ice cream social at the kids’ elementary school. They start in one week!
- Sweeping the kitchen. I should mop, too. It’s a mess!
- Retrieving our giant trash bin from the curb, as soon as the trash truck comes.
- Calling my sister!! We talked for five seconds the other night and I forgot to call her back yesterday. She told me she’s going back to school, and starting TODAY! I need to find out what this is all about!
- Making a master list of school supplies for Mallory and Pablo. I haven’t gotten his class list yet, so I’m trying to guess from last year.
- Making that damned lasagna I’ve been mentioning for three days. Last night we had French dips instead, and they were gooooood.
- Practicing patience, reminding myself to mellow out, praying for the strength to be Supermom.
- Looking for a tutorial online for making a REALLY COOL photo thingy like I saw at my friend’s house the other night. I want to make it for Paul’s office for his birthday next month, and I’m going to try and get started today, even though he’s being a big grouchy butthead.
- Drinking my water! Gulp gulp, drink some water, it’s so good for youuuuu!
- Paying my overdue bill for my Reader’s Digest subscription. I love the magazine, but I’m so PISSED at their guerrilla renewal tactics!! They just ASSUME you want to continue your subscription after it expires, and they keep sending you the magazine for a few more months, along with a bill. And if you don’t pay it, they start sending you really bitchy collection notices. If you want to let your subscription lapse, you have to actually make the effort to tell them so, by writing to tell them. What other magazine requires you to go out and locate postage and all that shit, just to END your subscription? I pay my bills online! The only time I buy stamps is at Christmastime! I think it’s shameful, considering that a large portion of their readership is older people, who are often intimidated by those tactics. Reader’s Digest is a BULLY!

Man…moms are AMAZING. Good luck with it all!
I don’t like Reader’s Digest; too much of an agenda. Tell ‘em to take a hike; you don’t need them anymore—You’ve got the whole internet at your fingertips!
