I can’t believe how often I hear about people scamming the elderly. Is there anything LOWER than that? Not much, I don’t think. The latest thing I keep hearing about is old people getting scammed out of their money to pre-pay for their burial expenses. I remember after my great grandmother died, a guy from the cemetery came over and talked them into buying a couple of “plots” in the then-brand-new mausoleum. I couldn’t believe he was like - making a sales pitch while they were grieving! And worst of all, my grandparents signed right up, even though they had perfectly good plots already reserved, over next to all our other dead relatives. And now they’ve both passed on, and they’re both in those weird file drawer things inside a big marble wall. So bizarre to me. And they’re like 20 feet up, too, so if you take flowers to them, you have to put them in this stick thing and swing it up over your head, hopefully getting the flowers into the vase. So I guess if you’re in the market for funeral insurance, do your homework first!
