LaLaGirl – Twinfinite Chaos! Parenting Multiples and Dealing with Autism

Hellllooooo there! It’s a gorgeous Sunday afternoon! Where am I? In front of my computer! But only for a second, and then I’m off to fold more laundry. Woot!! Actually, it’s all good. I’m sunburned from spending all morning outside playing with the kids! It poured yesterday and was downright cold outside, so the beautiful sunny weather today was a welcome change. The kids headed out to the backyard right after breakfast and we didn’t come in until after lunch – we even had our lunch on the patio! Now everyone is sleeping hard (yay) and I’m trying to get some stuff done around the house.

Friday night we set up for the twin club sale! I can’t BELIEVE how much stuff was there! I think the sale gets bigger every time. We packed Paul’s van completely full of things we needed to get rid of: a crib, a highchair, a few big Little Tikes toys, several boxes of smaller toys, and seven huge boxes of clothes! I had everything tagged, on hangers, and organized by size and gender, so it all went onto the racks quickly. We had our stuff set up lickety split. Paul stuck around for the evening and helped carry things out during the member sale while I cashiered. We picked up a few things, too – another crib tent (Pablo has destroyed his!) and some great little toys, and several uniform pieces for Pablo. And cute little slippers for everyone! My kids are such fiends for slippers, for some reason!

Saturday was the public sale, which we didn’t attend. We headed up there after the sale ended to pick up our items that didn’t sell. All of our big stuff went! We ended up bringing home three boxes of clothes and three boxes of toys. Not too bad! It’s all ready to go back into storage for the next sale! And I can’t wait to get that check in my hot little hand!

And then last night, we headed back to the same part of town (E-470 is LOVING us this weekend!) for a birthday party for a friend’s twin daughters. They just bought a brand new house, so it was kind of a “show off our new house” party, too. It was so great to see these people! We hardly get to see them, but we sure do like them. I really need to make an effort to hang out with my friend more – she’s cool, she’s funny, she’s a Creative Memories rep, she has twin girls between the ages of my two sets of twins, and our husbands seem to really like each other. Yeah – I really need to plant myself in her life a lot more!!

So then we got home from the birthday party and played with the kids all night, and just hung out on the sofa, relaxing, reading books, watching Caillou – man, I hate that show, but Mallory ADORES it at the moment. It was just a sweet little family night at home.

And today’s going splendidly as well!

Oh, and I forgot to mention, my big girl is in Florida at the moment! She called me late last night and then again today, both times from Disneyworld! Once to tell me she just rode Splash Mountain, and once to tell me she just rode the Tower of Doom. Hehe! Ah, to be an 11-year-old girl spending spring break with her favorite cousin at Disneyworld. What a sweet life! Pablo is on spring break also, beginning tomorrow. I think we’re really going to push the potty training, since we’re going to be home and all. He’s doing well with peeing on the potty when we try it – I think we just need to bite the bullet and get him in underwear and see how it goes. Here he is today out in the yard. Can you see why I HAD to buy these underwear???
