I’m all ready! Well, I’m almost all ready. I still need to clean the bathroom and find the pretty table linens. But I’ve got all my side dishes made! Broccoli cheese and rice casserole, shoepeg corn casserole, scalloped pineapple, and the obligatory green bean casserole are all in the fridge, ready for tomorrow. My mom is making the turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes & gravy and yams at her house and bringing them over. And I’ve got pies too! Oh, and wine! The all important wine. I’m planning to just have a nice mellow day. We’re only having my folks and Paul’s mom over for dinner - Kayley’s off with her dad this year, and the rest of Paul’s family has other plans. And that’s cool, baby.

Last year, I was SO PISSED the day after Thanksgiving. We had a bunch of people over, and I couldn’t get any help to save my life!! I was so angry when my mom said she wasn’t coming over until an hour or so before dinner, so she wouldn’t be “in my way…” I was like, are you crazy? Have you forgotten I’m trying to cook goddamned Thanksgiving dinner for a dozen people while dealing with four infants?? Everyone came over and just stood around, not doing a thing - and then I had to clean that stupid deep fryer!! No more deep fried turkey. No more slackass guests. No more doing it all myself. I’m really excited - I think this year, it’s actually going to be fun!

So, happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
