Reminiscing days gone by…
When I imported my old blogger entries earlier today, I started reading through some of the posts leading up to our wedding last September. What a crazy, busy, downright chaotic summer that was!! The little girls were still just BABIES then – and Pablo and Mallory were pretty tiny, too. Since we got married in our backyard, we had a LOT of work to do to get it ready for a wedding.
We were soooo broke, too. It wasn’t easy pulling off the wedding we wanted with basically no budget. I was lucky enough to find my wedding dress supah cheap, on FashionBug’s site. The theme of my wedding was basically backyard casual, I guess! Paul wore slacks and a casual shirt, and we had no attendants. Kayley and I wore matching flip flops! I’m one of those people who doesn’t generally follow the “rules” for things like weddings (hello, we had four kids before we tied the knot!) so we didn’t do any of the typical wedding rituals. I didn’t even have anyone give me away!
Honestly, though, our wedding was THE BEST. It was the happiest, best day of my whole life. If I could relive it all without changing a single detail, I’d do it in a heartbeat. I wish everyone would do their wedding the way they want to, instead of being influenced by their parents and inlaws and friends and every other well-meaning person they know!
