Summer’s over!
It’s feeling like fall around here, man – it’s been pretty chilly in the evenings, and even chillier than usual during the day! Today is the first day in FOREVER that my kids are wearing…(gasp) JEANS!!! I don’t know if we’re doing anything, but if we go outside, I don’t want them to all be chilly, so jeans it is. When we were sitting around the firepit the other night, I had to give Colleen one of Kayley’s hoodies to put on so she didn’t shiver to death. (Yeah, Colleen is the same size as my 11-year-old – hehe!)
I just got back from making a quick trip out to the grocery store, and I noticed that all the maple trees in the median are RED!! I guess the trees realize summer’s over, too! Boooooo!
I’m sure we’ll have a few more hot hot days, but with all the recent storms, it’s feeling way more like October. I almost bought the orange and black Circus Animal cookies at the store just now, since all the Halloweenie stuff is already out!! I can’t bring myself to do it yet, though. It should still feel like summer!!

Didn’t I tell you? Those handmedowns I took are for ME! I’m here at Shannon’s with Tam reading over my shoulder – I was talking about bouncing on the trampoline Friday night and everyone here wants to see those pictures from the par-tay. So drop everything and cater to us, mmmkay?

It’s starting to feel like fall around here too! I’m liking it right now, but I know I will be missing summer very quickly.

I can’t believe how chilly it has been lately either. I actually had to put on a pair of socks and real shoes for Maddie soccer game yesterday morning. My feet are too used to flops so they are feeling all kinds of cramped in real shoes.
