It’s almost Monday…
I know I’ve mentioned here in the past how much I love Mondays, and the whole “clean-slate” feeling I have on Monday morning, when the weekend is over and Paul is back at work and I have the entire week stretching out ahead of me – and I haven’t wasted any entire days yet watching Hogan Knows Best and Trading Spaces and Ellen. Everything’s so new and open and fresh on Monday. I always spend the morning planning out my week, thinking, I’m going to grocery shop on this day and do laundry on this day and have a picnic at the park on this day…and rarely does it ever go all nice and neat and pretty the way I want it to! Still, I try. I plan and I schedule and I make lists and I begin projects and I daydream about being one of those moms with the cute, trendy hair and the organized purse and the children with clean faces and untangled hair. I imagine myself driving to playdates in my unlittered minivan, listening to Joss Stone and drinking bottled water while my children enjoy the scenery and refrain from throwing juice cups at the back of my head. I plan meals that include ingredients like sundried tomatoes and boneless chicken breasts and arugula, rather than meals that take ten minutes to make and include the word “Helper” in the title. On Monday, I unload the dishwasher during breakfast instead of before bed. On Monday, I put on pretty underwear and I wear eyeliner to the supermarket. On Monday, I return calls and emails immediately and remember to floss. On Monday, I am Laura, Supermom to All Those Children. On Monday, I am Queen of the World.
By Tuesday, I’m normal again.

LOL I think we all feel like that! Wouldn’t it be wonderfull if every day we felt that on top of life??!! I think I used to. The older I’ve gotten, and the less I “have” to do………the less I do! hmmmmm

LOL don’t we all feel that way!
The kicker is, SOMEWHERE out there is a mom who is making sun chicken breasts with sundried tomatos, who’s children are happyily perched, peacefully and cleanly, in chairs neatly eating a breakfast of fruits and barley.
We must find her….

OMG, you just described me to a T! Especially the part about on Mondays you return calls and emails immediately. I’m the same way, but only if I’m feeling motivated and “supermom-ish”. The rest of the time I put it off until the last possible second. Why is that? It’s not that hard to pick up a phone!
