A li’l update!
Well, good mornin’ to ya.
I feel like I never update my blog anymore!
Not that there’s anything super fascinating going on over here. We had a decent weekend – we actually didn’t do anything. Paul went on a motorcycle ride and seriously sunburned his forearms. I laughed and laughed when I saw him nakie later getting in the shower. His forearms were just bright freakin’ red. He looked like Dexter from Dexter’s lab with gloves on or something. Don’t worry, I was a good wifey and rubbed aloe vera gel all over his sunburn a couple of times.
I went out to dinner with some girlfriends a few nights ago and had SO much fun. I love having real friends of my own all of a sudden. It seems like throughout my grownup years, all of my friends have been coworker friends, and we lost touch after we left our jobs, or couple friends, and most of them seemed to vanish when I got divorced, or else have moved far away. Now, out of the blue, I have friends, just friends of MINE, who aren’t my husband’s coworker’s wife or the neighbor or whatever. Just people who want to hang out with me! Whee! Anyway. I know how pitiful that sounds. Ha!
Pablo’s been doing pretty great lately. We seem to follow this pattern where he has a horrible day, and then several fantastic days afterward. I don’t know why. Our horrible day was Friday. We went to a playdate/lunch/open house thing at a friend’s new place, and I had such high hopes!! There were lots of fun mamas going and I was really looking forward to getting to chat with them all and get to know them better. Pablo didn’t allow for that at all – he was having a really rough day, it was really hot out, he was hungry, and there were so many new faces and with it being a brand new place, I guess it was too much for him? He threw the mother of all tantrums, and I never could get him to calm down. It sucked. But – the rest of the day once he came home and got a nap – he was an angel! And all weekend, too. Even yesterday, he sat down and watched a sign language DVD with me and signed “eat” and “go” and “mouse” – and when I said, “Yay, Pablo!” he said, “Yeah!!” I heard him use a few words here and there yesterday, too – repeating things we were saying. It’s weird, it’s almost like maybe he’ll TALK eventually!!
Today, we have occupational therapy, and then playgroup. We’re going to someone’s house, and I hope Pablo acts like the sweet little boy who’s been here for a few days!! I’m going to try to chill the fuck out, too, because I think a lot of it is him picking up on my cues.
What else, what else? I dunno. Kayley’s going to go on the 5th grade field trip very soon, and I keep trying to get her to wear her new hiking boots, and she keeps “forgetting.” Not my fault if she ends up all blistery because she didn’t want to break them in! Paul’s folks spent the night here last night so they could go to the airport bright and early. And Paul’s dad wouldn’t SHUT UP while I was watching Medium – it was annoying me!! I have, like, one show I watch. One. And we’re too poor still for TIVO. Hehe!! So let me watch it in peace!!
Oh, and I uploaded a bunch of pictures of the kids yesterday. They’re just super cute. I mean, I know they’re my kids and all, but honestly – they’re just sooo, so cute. Here they are. All these pictures were taken that same day we went to the open house thing where Pablo acted like a little demon. See how mellow and relaxed he was after coming home and getting a good nap??
Okay, I’m outtie. Have a nice Tuesday! xo!
P.S. Today, April 25th, marks SIX YEARS that I’ve been blogging! Started out on lalablog.com, remember that? Then blue-girl? Meeeeemories…

I love the picture of Pablo and Mallory having a little conversation through the playhouse window. They look like they’re sharing a giggly secret. All your kids are such dollies!

I always seem to say “damn haven’t checked Laura in a bit, and then I go there and it’s always been updated within that day or previous day. I equate it with you are posting just for me. And yes I know I’m delusional…lol

You do realize don’t you, that the rest of us just followed you once you started blogging? You were the first in the group that once was MOL.
