Brady never played in his diaper, but he removed it many times. He had absolutely no interest in potty training until well after 2-1/2 and yes, peed without noticing. After my first one who was so clean and tidy about potty stuff, this was a bit of a shock. I kept introducing the potty to see if he was ready, but he never was. He'd tell me he didn't want to pee in the toilet. About 6 weeks before he turned 3, a friend was over for a play date. We lived on an old farm and the boys were out playing amongst the trees next to the house. Brady's buddy whipped out his penis and watered my trees! Brady found this so exciting that he decided to follow suit. He was so proud of himself and in a couple of days was peeing in the toilet.

I don't know if it's a boy thing or a sensory thing but Dillon does the same thing. He's learning though. He will just stand there before a bath and pee too, lol. But, sometimes now he'll pat his diaper and make a noise, usually there's poop in there. It's not often enough. And we have A HUGE problem changing his diaper. He screams bloody murder still. I wonder if that's sensory related too? It's one of the things his OT is going to work on with us.

Damn... these posts are funny! I feel for you because I hate poop! I swear Jackson poops more than any kid! Just last night we had 4 poop diapers from 6pm-9pm and the 4th one he tore off and was sitting there on my cream colored carpet just playing away! UUGGHHH we are ALREADY tearing our diaper off!

Yeah, you'd better run, LaDonna!! LOL!

Actually, it wasn't that bad. It was like a solid turd I just had to snatch out of the crib and flush away. She did get some on her hands, though, which touched everything! Bleahhhhhh!!!!

Had to LOL at LaDonna's comment. Heh! I have BTDT too many times with both of my kids, Laura. So I feel your pain! People who don't have "active children" just can't possibly understand this stuff. And if having active children weren't enough, I had an active dog on top of it. She would go into diaper pails and trash cans when we went out and shred all the diapers all over the place. THAT was always great to come home to.

Duct tape sounds like a good option at this point! And you never know, if they're stripping - it might be getting close to potty-training time. It seems like mine both started not too long after the stripping stage.

Not to rub it in too bad, but I remember a comment on my site after my dog's diarrhea incident where you mentioned not having to clean up poop because your kids wore diapers! I take it Kayley never did things like this? (Running for cover so Laura doesn't bitch-slap me!)
