Okay, K8 tagged me for a meme several days ago - this is why people don’t tag me; I’m not very prompt when it comes to participating!

5 Weird Things About Me.

  1. When I fall asleep at night, I lie on my right side and pull my left arm out of the sleeve and keep it inside my shirt. I do this because I’m always freezing to death when I go to sleep at night, for some reason - but once I’m asleep, I evidently warm right up, because I wake up warm and toasty and not all burrowed in the blankets or anything. And my arm always finds its way back out the sleeve again, because I never wake up with my shirt all wrapped up around my head or anything like that.

  2. Speaking of sleeping - you’ve never met someone who talked/walked/attacked invisible home invaders while sleeping more than I do. I guarantee it. Or actually, my husband guarantees it. I never remember it - sometimes I have a vague memory of him leading me back to bed, but not very often. Poor man. I wake his ass up on a regular basis, and for some reason, he puts up with me.

  3. I do a little dance-walking type of thing as I leave the room when I put the babies to sleep. I’ll try to describe it. I place the girls in their cribs and cover them up, and while they’re deciding whether to fall asleep peacefully or sit up and start hollering, I start doing these big tiptoe-step long strides toward the door, while my mouth forms the letter “O” and I make rotate my hands in a circle with finger guns pointing toward the door. Doing this dance ensures that I can get to the door without anyone fussing. Not that they can see me, of course; it’s dark.

  4. When my kids all start screaming and I feel my blood pressure rising, I start singing, “I’ll tumble for ya, I’ll tumble for ya, I’ll tumble for ya, I’ll tumble for youuuuu…” over and over.

  5. I assign personalities to inanimate objects. For example, when I packed away all my Christmas ornaments, I made sure every ornament had a buddy ornament next to it in its little divided section of the ornament box - AND, that each ornament would LIKE its ornament buddy - like I made sure to put the Bert and Ernie ornaments together in one section and the Spongebob and Patrick ornaments together and if there was a reindeer ornament and a Santa ornament, I put those two together, and if there were two angels, I put them together and so on. I also have a whole jar of pens inside my kitchen cabinets, along with two pens and a pad of paper in a magnetic pocket thing on the fridge. Two pens because one pen would be lonely by itself. And, like, right now, the little tiny teddy bear I usually have resting in front of my monitor is lying on its side, and I’m thinking it’s saying, “Hello? Over here, woman. This isn’t where I’m supposed to be! Fix me!” Yes, I know it’s weird. I used to work with this girl, Julie, who did the same thing. So I know it’s not just me. :-)

Yeah, your friend Laura is insane! Now I’m tagging 5 people. Of course, I’m going to tag the back in blogging Amy, along with Bev, Gina, Michelle, and Cindy. Get on it, sistahs.
