Happy Tuesday!

Pablo’s coughing his little head off. At first, I thought it was because his throat was irritated from screaming so much during his anti-sleep protest. But now I’m starting to think he’s really sick. Or asthmatic or something! Poor kid. I gave him some of that Del Sym cough syrup I talked about a few weeks ago and it didn’t even touch it. I was up with him a few times last night. I put that Vick’s Vaporub on his chest and ran the humidifyer and that seemed like it helped. So now I’m patiently waiting for Kaiser to call me back to see if I can get an appointment for him. Waiting, waiting.

The power just went out here for a brief moment. Just long enough to restart the computers and mess up the cable modem; hence messing up the phone, since we have Vonage. I had to unplug the modem for about a minute and plug it back in an it reset, but the whole time I worried that Kaiser was trying to call me back right at that moment and I was missing their call. So, yeah. About Vonage. It kind of sucks. I mean, it doesn’t, but it does. Basically, you get what you pay for. We pay fifteen bucks a month. And we get spotty service. A week and a half ago, my friend Nichole called to see if I wanted to go Christmas shopping with her and another friend. She called on Thursday at noon. I got her voice mail on Sunday. And there was nothing on the caller ID that indicated she ever called at all. That kind of shit is irritating, and it happens from time to time with Vonage. People will try to call and it won’t even ring here, but it’ll go right to Paul’s cell phone. Annoying. I’ve gotten to where I’m just giving people my cell number and having them call me there, because it works pretty much all the time. Unfortunately, I wasn’t smart enough to do that when I called Kaiser this morning!

The kids slept better last night and the night before, but…(sigh!) Big sad sigh here…I think they’re about ready to give up naps. Pablo, anyway. Mallory took a little nap on the sofa yesterday afternoon with a blanket and pillow, but Pablo was up all day until 10 at night. It’s bumming me out that I really only got about a month’s worth of all four kids napping at once, but, whaddaya gonna do? Eating and sleeping are the only things they’re pretty much in control of, and Pablo’s been giving me the finger when it comes to both of them, so…whatever! LOL!

Our friend’s dad’s funeral is Friday. I don’t think I’m going to be able to go. I don’t know who I can get to watch the kids. My dad and Paul are going to go. And Kayley has her Christmas program Friday night. Guess Friday’ll be a busy day! She got the cutest outfit too. I’m sure there will be pictures.

Okay, I need to jump in the shower before these monkeys wake up! (Actually, they’re awake – I can hear them in there talking! I probably have 15 minutes before they start beating on things!) Have a nice Tuesday.

Have you tried turning down the bandwidth usage by vonage? Ours was spotty and it kept cutting out because they had it on high (where they have it set initially) but if you turn it down to medium it doensn’t take any of the quality away but it always rings and holds a phone call now. If it’s going to his cell phone it means that it’s taking up to much of your internet typically when it tries to call your home phone. Just an idea… don’t know if you tried it, but I found out about it after I got very frustrated with loosing calls within a few minutes. It’s in one of the settings. Let me know if you can’t find it and I might be able to help you :) If you don’t have it already set up on the lower setting.

I hope that little boy gets better soon! Poor thing! Good luck with getting an appointment.

Poor little P. I hope he feels better soon!

    What is Vonage exactly?

That stinks about the DelSyn Stuff, that stuff usually works great (tastes like CRAP though…)

I hope he feels better soon! It’s so hard when little ones are sick!!

I bet the nights of him not sleeping was because he was getting sick. My three are always like that. They sleep so great until they start getting sick. I am always like WTF is going on here and then they come down with a cold or something and I think back and realize that is why they weren’t sleeping. Just a thought. I hope it all passes and you get your “you time” back!

Sorry for the sickies! Hey better than Vapo Rub are those Triaminic Vapor Patches. THe cherry ones are great. You stick them on their chest and they work wonders to break up congestion and help with cough. I usually stick them on top of Ashton’s shirts.

Far less messy than the Vapo Rub.
