Halfway through the Weekend!
I’m the only one awake in my house right now, and it’s delightful.
Paul took that guy to a Halloween party at his friend’s house, after said guy spent like THREE HOURS getting ready. My hell, what takes so long? It’s just a pimp outfit (bahahahaha!) from Party City. I told Paul to stay there and party for awhile if he wanted to, so I don’t imagine I’ll see him home for a little while.
The wee girls JUST went to sleep. In fact, Nikki is asleep on the floor right here, because I didn’t want to take her upstairs and have to come back down to turn off the TV and clean up and all that, so I’m waiting to take her up to her room. Pabo and Mallory and Kayley crashed a few hours ago. Yay! Quietness!!
We went to Paul’s nephew’s little girl’s birthday party today. It was very sweet. Lots of little kids there in costumes. The kids behaved really well (I was damned impressed) and we had a nice time. Unfortunately, after we came home, the kids were heeeeellions! But that’s okay; they weren’t up for too long! Here’s a cute picture of the little girls at the party. This cracked me UP when I saw it! Don’t you think Nikki looks like that baby, Bob, from the Quizno’s commercials?
And Kayley and I carved our pumpkins tonight, which was lots of messy fun. They came out pretty decent:
And! While we were gone today, we trapped a mouse that was running around in our house. (I mentioned having a mouse on a forum tonight, and was “accused” of trying to be like Yvonne. Haha!) I swear, I didn’t even know she had a mouse. We just have rodents in common, I guess. Anyway, last night, Kayley goes, “What did I just see run across the floor under the couch?” I had just told Paul the other day that I thought I saw a flash of something moving around the living room – but we never found any evidence of mice, so I thought I was just crazy. We bought a package of traps last night and set four of them all over the downstairs, and didn’t find anything when we came downstairs this morning. I was disappointed! But, while we were gone, our little mousy got snapped in one of them. I think he was working alone. I hope so, anyway. I hate little mice. Odd, because Kayley and I owned pet rats for a good year. I guess it’s different when the rodent is your nice, clean pet, whom you’ve named and all that. Kayley even laughed at me for screaming when the mouse jumped out of the couch when we flipped it on its side. She reminded me that our pet RAT, Molly, used to sit on my shoulder for hours at a time while I sat in front of my computer. My, how times have changed!! Not sure when I turned into a screaming woman at the sight of a mouse, but I guess I did.
And tomorrow, we’re going to a little Halloween party in the evening…and not sure what else we’re doing the rest of the day. Except for one thing…Paul is driving HIS FRIEND to the airport – OH, GLORIOUS DAY! HE’S LEAVING!!
Enjoy the rest of the weekend, and don’t forget to turn your clocks back! (Cindy reminded me!!)
